Endless Wonder

As someone who has always been meticulous and drawn to simplicity, I often focus on keeping things as minimal as possible. However, for this series, I intentionally embrace complexity—both in the framing of the images and in the way I use light and shadow.

Light has always been central to my practice, and I am especially fascinated by the shadows it casts. However through the process of photography, I have gradually realized that light is ever-changing, and can never be controlled. In my previous photographs, I had a final image in my mind before I pressed the shutter. I would want all my final images to be the same as the one I had in my head at the time, but at the same time I was fearful that the result would not be what I had envisioned. In a way, I am in control of photography and photography is in control of me. Taking light as an ephemeral subject,  I embrace the unpredictability that leads to the unknown that I am fearful yet willing to explore.

It is a reflection of my own growth, moving from a need for control and simplicity to embracing the complexity of both the process and the final image.
